Disney Frozen Toys For Girls

frozen toys for girls
It wasn't a surprise when Disney's "Frozen", the studio's 53rd full length animated movie, was a hit with kids everywhere. However, the extent of the success caught even Disney on the hop.

Frozen was the highest grossing animated movie of all time. It was also the fifth highest grossing movie of all time and the highest grossing movie of 2013.

It's based on "The Snow Queen", by Hans Christian Andersen and is, at its core, a tale of sisterly love. That may be part of the reason why it is so incredibly popular with young girls.

As a result of the enormous popularity of the movie, demand for Frozen merchandise - toys, games, costumes, etc. - greatly outstripped supply. For several months after the movie release, frustrated parents searched in vain for Frozen related items for their own little princesses.

Fortunately Disney's marketing team has addressed the issue now and Frozen toys for girls are much easier to find.

Here are a few examples of what's on the market right now:

Disney Frozen Princess Elsa Costume

It's surprising how history repeats itself. Many years ago, I can remember the difficulty to find either Buzz Lightyear or Woody toys following the release of the original Toy Story movie. Fortunately I got one - so my son was happy.

It's not often that the Disney marketing department gets it wrong - but they totally underestimated the demand for Toy Story merchandise. Fast forward 20 years to 2013 and pretty much the same thing happens again.

Disney seemed to be totally unprepared for the demand for Frozen toys, games and costume following the release of its 53rd full length animated movie. To be fair, not many people saw it coming - the movie was basically a remake of Hans Christian Andersen's "The Snow Queen", and most critics seemed to consider it as being pretty run of the mill.

However, it really seemed to resonate with young girls, and demand for Frozen merchandise totally outstripped the available supplies. Once again, frustrated parents had a tough job to find the toys, games, clothes, backpacks and pencil cases that their little princesses demanded.

Fortunately things are a bit better now and Frozen merchandise is much more readily available - albeit almost a year after the release of the movie. Check out some of the Disney Frozen Princess Elsa costume choices below:

And don't forget, there's going to be a new Disney release of Cinderella next year. Get ready to grab your Cinderella merchandise well in advance!

Disney Frozen Bedding

Disney's Frozen was their big blockbuster of 2013. It was the company's 53rd full length animated movie - and it was loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen's "The Snow Queen" - with some modifications for the Disney style of magic.

It's basically a story of sisterly love, which is probably why it was such a big hit with young girls everywhere. Young girls still go nuts for this movie - and many of them will want a Disney Frozen theme in their bedroom.

A bedroom makeover can be a daunting prospect - whether it's for an adult or a child - and children can be very demanding "customers". However, if you want to establish a theme in a child's bedroom, it's a lot easier than you think.

At the risk of stating the obvious, the bed is the focus of the room - which is why it's called the bedroom I suppose. Simply by changing the bedlinen for sheets, covers, pillowslips etc. with the theme that you're going for printed on them, you can very quickly change the look of the room.

You can follow up by changing the drapes - because the window will be the second most dominant feature in the room, and one which will naturally draw the eye. Add a few posters, a couple of scatter cushions, a bedside light and you'll have a themed bedroom in no time at all.

The great thing about this is that you can do it quickly and without spending too much money.

You should be able to pick up a set of themed bedding for somewhere between $30 and $50. A set of curtains with tie-backs will probably set you back anywhere between $30 and $60, depending on the size of the window to some extent. A few accessories, a lamp, a rug (or two), a couple of posters or wall decals should come in at well under $100 - and, don't forget, you can add the accessories one piece at a time if you want.

In summary, for well under $200, and probably in the space of either a morning or an afternoon, you should be able to complete a themed Disney bedroom makeover. Of course, you could spend a lot more money if you wish - but that amount of time and money will still produce a themed room that will delight your child.

The great thing is that, because it's so quick and easy to do, you could complete your makeover while your daughter is playing with friends, visiting relatives or at school. It could be a huge surprise (and a very pleasant one) for her. Imagine the look on her face when she sees her bedroom makeover for the first time!

Don't be put off by the size of the task - it's easy to do.

Here are a few Disney Frozen bedding sets to give you some ideas about where/how to get started.

Pop Up Privacy Tent

If you like to enjoy the great outdoors, but you also like your privacy, then a pop up privacy tent might be a good idea for you.

These lightweight portable shelters fold down into small carry bags (usually supplied) and pop up pretty much instantly when you need them. they tend to be about the size of a small changing room (or toilet stall if you prefer).

You can use them to change in, use them as a camping shower or a camping toilet. If you like fishing or photography, one of these would make a perfectly fine shelter when you're sitting around waiting for a nibble - or that perfect snapshot.

Use them at the beach, in the country or at a camp site. Most of them are perfectly suited for indoor use also - handy if you just want a spare changing room at an indoor venue.

Have a look at some of the pop up privacy tents available on the market today:

Disney Tsum Tsum Plushes

Disney looks set to have another big hit on its hands with its latest Disney Tsum Tsum range of plush toys. Tsums Tsums started life in Japan - "tsum tsum" means "stack stack" apparently.

Disney originally launched an iPhone Tsum Tsum app where kids have to stack as many Disney characters as possible, as high as they can in one minute. It's a lot of fun and kids love it.

Now the plushes have been released. They come in three sizes - small (3.5"), medium (11") and large (17"), and they can be stacked just like in the game.

Kids are going nuts for these right now - and it seems fair to suppose that Disney Tsum Tsum plushes might be one of this year's biggest holiday sellers.

In fact, you might be advised to get on the bandwagon sooner rather than later. I suspect that these may be harder and harder to come by the closer we get to Xmas.

Laptop Cooling Pads

Why Use A Laptop Cooling Pad?

If you use a laptop computer on a regular basis, you're bound to have noticed just how quickly these things can become uncomfortably hot - especially if you use it balanced on your knee.

Apart from being uncomfortable to use, the excessive heating can reduce the working lifespan of your laptop. Heat is, pretty much, the arch enemy of all electrical and electronic devices. As a general rule of thumb, the hotter they get, the shorter their life.

Fortunately, it's fairly easy to address this (and solve the problem of your knee being toasted at the same time). You can use a laptop cooling pad - they cost just a few dollars, which is a small price to pay when you consider how much your laptop is worth - not to mention the data stores on it.

Different Types of Laptop Cooling Pads

There are two basic types of laptop cooling pads; passive and active.

Passive laptop cooling pads don't use fans. They tend to be flat, hard surfaces for you to rest your laptop on. The flat surface ensures that there is enough space for air to circulate beneath the laptop and to get into the cooling vents unimpeded.

These are usually fine for laptops of lower size and power - or even for more powerful laptops which aren't used for long periods at a time.

No fans means no drain on your battery - and no noise. Passive laptop coolers are often small enough and light enough to fit in your laptop bag so that you can take it with you wherever you go.

Active laptop cooling pads use a fan, or fans, to force additional air into the inlet cooling vents of your laptop. Power is normally supplied to the fan via a spare usb port on your laptop.

These can really lower the temperature of your laptop, and that will make it operate more efficiently (faster) and last longer.

Don't be tempted to go for a cheap foreign import. You'll often find that the fans are a bit noisy - and they tend not to last very long. If, on the other hand, you pick a well known, quality brand, you'll probably find that the fans make a lot less noise than those fitted internal to the laptop itself.

Here's a short list of some of the best laptop cooling pads on the market right now:

Best Pop Up Beach Tent 2014

Pop up beach tents are very handy things during the summer. you can use them on the beach (of course), but they're also very handy for picnics and general outdoor type activities.

We're all much more aware of the need to protect ourselves against excessive UV radiation these days. Sun block is always a good idea - but getting into the shade for a while is an even more effective solution.

As well as providing protection from UV rays, a pop up tent can give you a little privacy - if you need to change for example. They are also, on a slightly more frivolous note, great fun for small kids - they can play at castles and hideouts, or just go wherever their imagination leads them.

Here's a small selection of lightweight and easy to carry pop up beach tents 2014:
